Description #
The Missions module allows churches to manage missionary profiles, referred to as Missionaries, with dedicated pages for each missionary containing their ministry description, personal introduction, service destination, contact details, photos, and videos. It supports both long-term missionaries and short-term participants in missions trips.
Module Integrations #
- Events: Links missions-related events, such as missions trips, with participants designated as missionaries until the trip’s end date.
- Giving: Supports donations for missions work through dedicated donation forms.
- Prayer: Includes missions-specific prayers to encourage support.
- Sermons: Connects missions-related sermons to the Sermons module.
- Locations: Connects missionaries to specific regions or campuses.
- Ministries: Aligns missions work with ministry goals for outreach.
- People: Links missionaries to member profiles for community connection.
- Staff: Links missions leaders to staff profiles, if applicable.
- Testimonies: Shares missions-related stories to highlight impact.
- What to Expect: Provides missions information for visitors to aid engagement.
- Recommendations: Links missions-related resources for promotion.
Module Options #
Customize the Missions module to control how missionary profiles are displayed and managed.
- Navigate to Church Infinite > Website Settings > Modules > Missions or Missionaries > Options in the dashboard.
- Configure settings, such as:
- Display Options: Choose layout for missionary listings (e.g., grid or list).
- Inquiry Routing: Set notification preferences for missions-related inquiries (e.g., admin or custom email).
- Save changes to apply settings across your website.
Content Management #
Missionaries #
Description: Missionaries are profiles for individual missionaries or missions trip participants, including ministry details, destinations, and support options.
Adding:
- Go to Missionaries > Add New in the dashboard.
- Enter a title (e.g., “Smith Family Missions”) and description (personal introduction) for the missionary profile.
- In the Missionary Ministry Details section:
- Organization: Select or enter the associated organization, if applicable.
- Expected Duration of Service: Choose the duration (Long-Term: 3+ years, Mid-Term: 9 months–2 years, Short-Term: 2 weeks–8 months).
- Inactive Date: Optionally set a date to automatically hide the profile (e.g., after a missions trip ends).
- Mission Statement: Enter a summary statement (e.g., “Reaching Africa, one child at a time”). If blank, “Ministry Description” displays as the headline.
- Ministry Description: Write a detailed description of the missions work.
- Ministry Video Link: Paste a YouTube or Vimeo link for a ministry introduction video.
- Destination: Select a destination from the Destinations list (add new destinations via Missionaries > Destinations).
- Photo Gallery: Upload images to showcase missions activities.
- Add a featured image for the profile listing.
- Click “Publish” to display the missionary profile on the “Missionaries” page under Get Involved.
Editing:
- Go to Missionaries > All Missionaries.
- Hover over the missionary profile and click “Edit”.
- Update the title, description, organization, duration, inactive date, mission statement, ministry description, video link, destination, photo gallery, or featured image.
- Click “Update” to save changes.
Deleting:
- Go to Missionaries > All Missionaries.
- Hover over the missionary profile and click “Trash”.
- To permanently delete, go to Missionaries > Trash, hover, and click “Delete Permanently”.
- Note: Deleted missionary profiles cannot be recovered unless restored from a backup.
Missionary Details: Enhance missionary profiles with:
- Photo Gallery: Showcase missions work with images (e.g., 800x600px).
- Video: Embed a YouTube or Vimeo video to introduce the ministry.
- Support Options: Link to a Giving form or list prayer requests via the ministry description.
- People Link: Connect to a missionary’s profile for visibility.
Destinations #
Description: Destinations categorize missionaries by their service locations, with details like regions and countries.
Adding:
- Go to Missionaries > Destinations.
- Click “Add New Destination”.
- Enter a name for the destination (e.g., “Nairobi, Kenya”).
- In the Destination Details section:
- Description Link: Add a URL for more information about the destination (e.g., a regional website).
- Region: Select a region (e.g., “East Africa”) from the Regions list (add new regions via Missionaries > Regions).
- Country: Choose a country (e.g., “Kenya”) from the country list.
- Profile Page Map: Set a Google Map location for the missionary profile banner, adjusting zoom as needed.
- Photo Gallery: Upload images to showcase the destination.
- Save to add the destination.
Editing:
- Go to Missionaries > Destinations.
- Hover over the destination and click “Edit”.
- Update the name, description link, region, country, map, or photo gallery.
- Save changes.
Deleting:
- Go to Missionaries > Destinations.
- Hover over the destination and click “Delete”.
- Confirm deletion.
- Note: Deleting a destination removes it from associated missionary profiles, but profiles remain published.
Destination Details: Enhance destinations with:
- Map: Display a Google Map on missionary profile banners.
- Photo Gallery: Include images to highlight the location.
- Region and Country: Categorize destinations for organization.
Regions #
Description: Regions categorize destinations by broader geographic areas (e.g., East Africa).
Adding:
- Go to Missionaries > Regions.
- Click “Add New Region”.
- Enter the region name (e.g., “East Africa”).
- Save to add.
Editing:
- Go to Missionaries > Regions.
- Hover over the region and click “Edit”.
- Update the name.
- Save changes.
Deleting:
- Go to Missionaries > Regions.
- Hover over the region and click “Delete”.
- Confirm deletion.
- Note: Deleting a region removes it from associated destinations, but destinations and missionary profiles remain published.
Region Organization: Organize destinations effectively:
- Use regions to group destinations (e.g., “Southeast Asia”).
- Assign a single region per destination for clear categorization.
