Description #
The History module allows churches to showcase their historical timeline on the History page, with events that can include dates or periods, titles, descriptions, Font Awesome icons, and images.
Module Integrations #
- Staff: Displays timeline events on associated staff profiles, connecting team history.
- Locations: Displays timeline events on associated location pages, linking campus milestones.
Module Options #
Customize the History module to control how the timeline is displayed.
- Navigate to Church Infinite > Website Settings > Modules > History in the dashboard.
- Configure display settings, such as:
- Icon Styles: Choose default Font Awesome icon styles (e.g., circle).
- Timeline Layout: Select layout options (e.g., vertical or horizontal).
- Save changes to apply settings to the “History” page under About.
Managing Content #
Timeline #
Description: The timeline showcases your church’s historical events, such as founding dates or major milestones, with customizable details.
Managing Content:
- Go to Pages > History in the dashboard.
- Locate the Timeline section on the page editor.
- Add or edit events:
- Date/Period: Specify a date (e.g., “July 26, 2014”) or range (e.g., “2014–2017”).
- Title: Enter an event title (e.g., “Church Founded”).
- Description: Write a detailed explanation of the event.
- Icon: Select a Font Awesome icon (default: circle).
- Image: Optionally upload an image (e.g., 800x400px, optimized for landscape).
- Linked To: Optionally associate with a Staff member or Location to display on their respective pages.
- Click “Add Another Event” to include additional timeline events.
- Reorder events using drag-and-drop to arrange chronologically or by significance.
- Click “Update” to save changes and update the “History” page.
Display Options: Customize the timeline:
- Icons: Use Font Awesome icons to visually distinguish events.
- Images: Add images to enhance event entries.
- Order: Arrange events to reflect your church’s story.
- Linked Display: Show events on associated Staff or Location pages for cross-module visibility.
