Description #

The Events module provides all the functionality needed to manage events, whether physical, virtual, or hybrid, with recurring schedules.

Module Integrations #

  • Groups: Links group-related events, connecting community gatherings.
  • Locations: Specifies event venues for campus-specific events.
  • Ministries: Connects ministry-specific events to support outreach.
  • Missions: Includes mission trip events to promote initiatives.
  • People: Links attendees or organizers to member profiles.
  • Podcasts: Records event-related episodes for audio content.
  • Prayer: Associates event-specific prayers to encourage participation.
  • Sermons: Connects event sermons to enhance worship experiences.
  • Staff: Identifies event organizers, linking to staff profiles.
  • Testimonies: Shares event-related stories to inspire community.
  • What to Expect: Provides visitor information for events to aid engagement.
  • Recommendations: Links event-related resources to promote activities.

Module Options #

Customize the Events module to control event display and scheduling.

  1. Navigate to Church Infinite > Website Settings > Modules > Events or Events > Options in the dashboard.
  2. Configure settings, such as:
    • Display options (e.g., event summary length, calendar view).
    • Recurrence settings (e.g., default patterns for repeating events).
  3. Save changes to apply settings across your website.

Content Management #

Events #

Description: Events are scheduled activities, such as worship services or community outreach, with details like location, timing, and media.

Adding:

  1. Go to Events > Add New in the dashboard.
  2. Enter a title (e.g., “Sunday Worship”) and description for the event.
  3. In the event details section:
    • Select event categories to organize the event.
    • Specify location:
      • Physical Venue: Choose a venue (e.g., Main Campus).
      • Online Venue: Select a platform (e.g., Zoom).
      • Both: Combine physical and online venues.
    • Set date and time:
      • Start Date: Choose the event start date.
      • End Date: Set the end date (if multi-day).
      • All Day: Check for all-day events.
      • Start Time: Enter the start time.
      • End Time: Enter the end time.
    • Configure repeating events (if applicable):
      • Select a pattern (e.g., weekly, monthly).
      • Specify specific dates or exceptions.
    • Add a photo gallery for promotional or past event images.
    • Upload a featured image for the event listing.
  4. Click “Publish” to display the event on the “Events” page under Get Involved.

Editing:

  1. Go to Events > All Events.
  2. Hover over the event and click “Edit”.
  3. Update the title, description, categories, location, date/time, recurrence, gallery, or image.
  4. Click “Update” to save changes.

Deleting:

  1. Go to Events > All Events.
  2. Hover over the event and click “Trash”.
  3. To permanently delete, go to Events > Trash, hover, and click “Delete Permanently”.
  4. Note: Deleted events cannot be recovered unless restored from a backup.

Scheduling Options: Enhance events with:

  • Recurrence: Set repeating patterns (e.g., every Sunday).
  • Photo Gallery: Upload images (e.g., 800x600px) for event promotion.
  • Featured Image: Add an image for event listings.

Online Venues #

Description: Online Venues define virtual event platforms (e.g., Zoom, YouTube Live) for online or hybrid events.

Adding:

  1. Go to Events > Online Venues.
  2. Click “Add New Online Venue”.
  3. Enter the venue name (e.g., “Zoom Meeting”).
  4. Specify details:
    • Broadcast Method: Select the platform type (e.g., video conference).
    • Video URL: Provide the meeting link (e.g., Zoom URL).
    • Access Details: Add instructions (e.g., meeting ID, password).
  5. Save to add the venue.

Editing:

  1. Go to Events > Online Venues.
  2. Hover over the venue and click “Edit”.
  3. Update the name, broadcast method, URL, or access details.
  4. Save changes.

Deleting:

  1. Go to Events > Online Venues.
  2. Hover over the venue and click “Delete”.
  3. Confirm deletion.
  4. Note: Deleting a venue removes it from associated events, but events remain published.

Venue Details: Customize online venues:

  • Access Instructions: Provide clear steps for attendees to join (e.g., “Enter meeting ID: 123”).
  • Platform: Support platforms like Zoom, YouTube Live, or custom links.

Physical Venues #

Description: Physical Venues define locations for in-person events (e.g., church campuses).

Adding:

  1. Go to Events > Physical Venues.
  2. Click “Add New Physical Venue”.
  3. Enter the venue name (e.g., “Main Campus”).
  4. Add details:
    • Address: Provide the full address (e.g., “123 Faith St, City”).
    • Website: Include a venue website URL, if applicable.
    • Phone: Add a contact number.
    • Featured Image: Upload an image (e.g., 800x600px).
  5. Save to add the venue.

Editing:

  1. Go to Events > Physical Venues.
  2. Hover over the venue and click “Edit”.
  3. Update the name, address, website, phone, or image.
  4. Save changes.

Deleting:

  1. Go to Events > Physical Venues.
  2. Hover over the venue and click “Delete”.
  3. Confirm deletion.
  4. Note: Deleting a venue removes it from associated events, but events remain published.

Venue Details: Customize physical venues:

Event Categories #

Description: Event Categories group events by type or purpose (e.g., Worship, Outreach).

Adding:

  1. Go to Events > Event Categories.

  4. Save to add.

Editing:

  1. Go to Events > Event Categories.
  2. Hover over the category and click “Edit”.
  3. Update the name.
  4. Save changes.

Deleting:

  1. Go to Events > Event Categories.
  2. Hover over the category and click “Delete”.
  3. Confirm deletion.
  4. Note: Deleting a category removes it from associated events, but events remain published.
