Just as intuitively serving the website needs of a church with an undefined number of physical sites versus a single church location is no easy task, which is why most church website platforms don’t even make a real attempt at it. We designed the Locations module not simply as a little addition of online information, but as a fundamental transformation of the structure and content of the entire website, other modules included.
Once the Locations module is activated an overall Locations page is created with a map linking to each individual location’s profile page. Each profile page is home to that location’s service schedule, physical address details, associated staff, media, events, etc.
Inherited Details
For those transitioning the website from the Locations module being off to being activated, the system automatically kick-starts the church location details population process by copying the previous general church details into the first church location profile. This is just another example of the thoughtfulness with which the module is designed, adhering to the principle of reducing redundant information input whenever possible.
Locations Map
Users can conveniently see all the church locations and their relative positions at a glance on the Locations page map. This, paired with the “Show My Location” button, which centers the map on the user’s current address, makes finding the closest church locations much easier.
From there one can click on each individual location marker and follow the link to that particular location’s profile page.
